Concurrent Enrollment
The UKB Education
Department will provide assistance for UKB Tribal Members in high
school interested in taking college classes through an accredited
institution. Scholarships will be awarded based on the students'
academic progress and availability of funds. Students must complete an
application process and meet eligibility requirements.
Oklahoma
Higher Learning Access Program (OHLAP)
The UKB Education
Department will provide dollar incentives for UKB students in the 8th,
9th, or 10th grade, who enroll in the OHLAP program. OHLAP is a free
scholarship program that provides thousands of dollars in scholarship
funds to students enrolling during this period. Students must provide
proof of enrollment in OHLAP and meet eligibility requirements.
Testing
Fees
The UKB Education
Department will provide assistance for testing fees for UKB high
school students taking the ACT, SAT, etc. or other academic testing
fees to prepare them to enter post-secondary education or training.
Assistance for certification fees will be provided for students
finishing professional or vocational degrees. Students must complete
an application and meet eligibility requirements.
GED
Testing Fees
The UKB Education
Department will provide assistance for GED testing fees for UKB tribal
members who participate in a minimum of twelve (12) hours of adult
basic education/GED classes provided by the UKB Education Department.
School
Supplies/School Equipment
The UKB Education Program
will provide assistance for each UKB student to purchase school
supplies including supplies for for special projects such as art,
music, band, home economics, agriculture, woodshop, business classes,
etc. Amounts are subject to change depending on availability of funds.
Students must complete an application and meet eligibility
requirements. Clothing/shoes vouchers are distributed by UKB
Human Services Department.
Educational Materials for Special Education Students
The UKB Education
Department will assist students with acquiring educational materials
that will assist in helping those students achieve academic success.
This is especially for students who, due to their disabilities, cannot
participate in reular school activities. Amounts are subject to change
depending on availability of funds. Students must complete an
application and meet eligibility requirements. Requests must be
accompanied by school documentation verifying the need for materials
requested.
Cultural
Activities
The UKB Education
Department will assist with cultural activities in schools based on
Keetoowah enrollment. Schools will be responsibile for providing
information regarding activities and number of UKB students enrolled.
School
Book Fairs
The UKB Education
Department will assist with purchasing books for UKB students from
school sponsored book fairs. No stickers, pencils, etc., can be
purchased at these book fairs with UKB dollars. Amounts are subject to
change depending on availability of funds. Students must complete an
application and meet eligibility requirements.
UKB
Educational Services (Based on availability of funding)
Seniors will be allowed a
maximum dollar amount to spend on senior-related costs, Juniors a
maximum dollar amount for junior-related costs and K-10 students a
maximum dollar amount for educational-related costs. Students must
plan ahead and determine how they will spend these funds. Amounts are
subject to change depending on availability of funds. Students must
complete an application and meet eligibility requirement. |
